Should You Strive To Be Unique?

These days it seems like everyone want to be "unique". But are they really being successful at this? Are they hiding their true interests? I think about this often when I want do something with my hair. For a long time now I've wanted to dye my hair purple, even before it became a huge sensation. But I still have yet to do it, and as I was talking to my friend the other day I decided, I don't even want purple hair anymore, so many more people have it and I don't want to look like them! "I just want to be different!" Truth is I would absolutely love to have purple hair.
Being said I do believe it does take part in hiding a persons true interests. Sure I can't base it off only my own personal experiences but I have heard similar things so many times. "Oh I'm not going to get these shoes, everyone is wearing them now" "A lot of people are doing this and that and so on, so I will not do the same "The questions is, do you like it? Now I understand fashion is sometimes hard to keep up with, after all you do, in a way need consider whats coming next. As far as people actually being unique. I don't think they really are. They see someone wearing something that they've never seen before, and figure that they should also wear it, they'll beat many people to a coming sensation if it does become that popular.
The point I am trying to make and to answer the main question, No you should not strive to be unique. The only way to be unique is to be yourself. Wear and do whatever you really want, whether you're going to be one of few doing it or joining the many people that already are. But preferably safe! :)

1. What is your favourite style to wear?
This is a pretty hard question because I will most likely wear any type of style but if I had to choose one, I'd probably go for more of a urban street style look.
2. Who is your fashion role model?
I'd would say Solange Knowles and Yuna Zarai are my fashion role models. I couldn't decide between the two but Solange wears patterns so well, and has very unique style. And Yuna has such a casual chic style that I absolutely adore.

3. What do you always have on?
For some reason I always studs or spikes somewhere. I never realized until someone pointed it out to me,but I always where them. On a bag, necklace, shirt, shoes. Anything!
4. What are your favourite jeans?
Any of my jeans by Fire LA. They fit so perfectly.

Usually when I buy jeans I'm too short for the regular

length but too tall for a petite length. But these fit perfectly.

5. What are your favourite sunglasses?
I don't wear sunglasses since I wear regualr glasses.

I'd rather see more clear than having a pair of amazing sunglasses :(

But hopefully I'll get some prescription sunglasses soon.

6. What are your favourite shoes?
My favorite shoes are these wedged shoes I have

there kind of like sneakers but they don't really look like them..

I guess you could consider them a casual wedge... suggestion? Haha

7. Who influenced you to write about fashion?
Myself, I needed to talk about fashion more often

but I only have a couple friends who are actually interested.

So I figured I'd just start a blog. I'm so glad I made that decision.

8 What is your favourite store?
My favourite stores are Forever 21 and H&M.

Those I the best options for me based on where I live

and how much I actually have to spend.

9. Who is your favourite fashion person on YouTube?
There are are so many but I'll narrow it down to Shirley B. Eniang Beauty Crush Uglyfaceofbeauty
10. What is your favourite fabric?
Leather is my favourite fabric. I think it adds so much edge to even the simplest items.
11. Who is your favourite model?
My favourite model is Chanel Iman, she is absolutely gorgeous! But I love Andrej Pejic and Cara Delevingne as well.
12. If you had $5,000 to spend on any one item, what would it be?
I'd buy a dress buy Valentino. This one to be exact, but I'll need $200 more.

13. Heels or flats?
Flats. Heels are usually cuter but not more comfortable.

14. What purse do you currently use?
I'm carrying my blue clutch that I had in a previous post.

15. Is fashion in your blood or your jeans?
My blood of course, I'm not the only person in my family in my family who loves fashion :)

Plus size is beautiful!

Hi! We all hear that you should love your body the way that it is, but there is a problem - we tend not to believe it. And I know the feeling. I've been overweight pretty much all of life, and it really bothered me at first, but eventually I realized how beautiful plus sized women are! I really want anyone out there who is uncomfortable with themselves to really try to love the way you look. And if you really want to change the way you look, you have to actually put some effort into it.
Personally, though I love the way I look now, I do still want to lose some weight and be a little more healthier over all. But also remember just because you're not skinny, doesn't mean you're not healthy. I've never received bad reports and I don't plan to. In January I finally decided that I would actually try to get into shape so I worked out daily and counted my calories and it wasn't as bad as I thought, I just had to get me self to actually start. A little bit later I stopped working out because I had gotten my straightened for senior pictures and I was not about to ruin it, not for all the money I paid. But I obviously still wanted to keep up my progress, then I came across a book by Jorge Cruise. I'm not going to go threw every detail of it because its to much. But basically you're counting your carbs and sugars. You can only eat up to 120 grams of carbs and up to 15 sugar grams a day. But don't freak out, this is very doable and it seriously works. Between Febuary and april I lost 18 pounds and I hadn't even worked out.
So I actually want to share some of inspirations whether she be a plus size inspiration or a fitness inspiration. And I will also go into more detail about my journey with my "diet" in a later post. And hopefully share some of my favorite recipes and food that go well with it.

Classic Beauty: May 4, 2014

Hello! Today's classic beauty, of course is Audrey Hepburn! She's was an amazing actress and humanitarian, and to be completely honest I have yet to watch a movie of hers that I don't like. They are all amazing! Any of my favorite quotes, are from her, style inspiration, from her, anything that I'm interested in, probably has something to do with her, especially old movies! If you all haven't seen any of her movies you should defiantly go check the out, you will not regret it. I honestly don't know what to say about her, there's just so much this post could probably go on for days, but I'm not going to do that. She is truly my favorite celebrity, she's all over my room :) And it's her birthday today! Happy Birthday!!

Classic Beauty: 3/06/14

Today's Classic Beauty is...Lucy Ball. Ball was an American comedienne, model, film and television actress and studio executive. (I always just thought she was an actress, fun to know!) We all know her for her hilarious show I Love Lucy, but how often do we realize how cute she was dressed. I'm sure it could have just be that time period, the clothes were so cute! But you still have to make them look good. And she she defiantly nailed it. We don't even have to mention her amazing red hair! If you haven't already, you should defiantly watch I Love Lucy, I could watch it for hours!

Lupita Nyong'o is Mexican-born Kenyan actress, film and music video director.
Not only is she talented and beautiful, but she has awesome fashion sense.
I have yet to see her looking anything but amazing, with her awesome style, beauty she could
easily be a model :) She is truly an inspiration to me, and I'm sure many others!
